Members of the Repanet network were joined at yesterday’s regional meeting by bodyshops “attending” via a live video link. The technology has been introduced into the meetings to enable as many members as possible to listen to the various presentations, submit their questions and comments and join in the varied open discussions.

The Repanet Open day on 6th October 2009 marks a new direction for the specialised support service. The day launches new services and a new way forward for bodyshops using Standox materials.
The market has changed dramatically over the past 18 months, and it was felt that Repanet needed to change to provide bodyshops with the full range of services they deserve. Now, with new staff in place and a renewed direction, Repanet is ready to launch an enhanced and extended range of services answering bodyshops needs.

Six bodyshop owners representing some 600 members in twelve countries give insight into their bodyshops, talk about the benefits of membership and explain why they have opted for Repanet.

Under the motto “Come together! Think global, act local!”, the second International Repanet Conference took place from 15 to 18 May 2008 on Sardinia. The European network of refinishers had invited its members to the Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea. During the four-day event delegates were informed about current trends and developments in the European automotive refinishing market, exchanged experience and enjoyed an attractive ancillary programme.

The new standard, which is currently being written in conjunction with the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre, Thatcham, together with a group of representative body repairers, insurers and industry sponsors, will underpin vehicle body repair safety criteria.
